Dailies AquaComfort Plus contact lenses
Dailies lenses with renewed parameters
Dailies AquaComfort Plus contact lenses are the daily contact lenses from Alcon (CIBA Vision). Compared to traditional one-day Focus Dailies All Day Comfort contact lenses, they have a higher level of wetting, which makes them much more comfortable to wear. Alcon (CIBA Vision) decided to abandon the standard 13.8 diameter (DIA) because it didn't suit most users. They also made a less significant change in curvature from 8.6 - 8.7 (BC).
Better wetting, more comfort
The first factor that contributes positively to the good wetting of lenses is a lubricant that is contained in the solution in which the contact lens is placed. This has the effect of acting immediately after the contact lens is placed in the eye. The second factor is the combination of two elements - the hydrophilic PEG (polyethylene glycol) and the moisturising PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) - contained in the lens material and released during the day with each blink (every day an average person blinks about 11 000 times!).
The transition from Focus Dailies All Day to Dailies AquaComfort Plus does not require an ophthalmologist's approval and according to the manufacturer's statement, CIBA Vision, is successfully occurring in 95% users.
